The Hainbuchenstraße dormitory (HBS) is a student dormitory in the west of Aachen and only a few minutes away from many buildings and departments of RWTH Aachen. It is situated directly beside the dormitories Studentendorf and FAHO on the Königshügel (“kings hill”) and accomodates a total of 178 students in three houses. House A (Hainbuchenstr. 4) was opened in the end of March 2014, shortly after the first residents could move in House B (Hainbuchenstr. 10), and the construction of House C (Hainbuchenstr. 8) finished in the summer of 2014.

With a new bus stop (“Hainbuchenstraße”) and the “Westbahnhof” train station accessible by foot even far-away locations are easy to reach by public transport. The university sports centre, also located within a minute’s walk of HBS, offers a variety of activities and courses. Just like the other dormitories of Studierendenwerk Aachen, the HBS has a self-administration, which gives its residents the possibility to influence the future of the dormitory by volunteering in the dormitory association.
